HGTV’s Property Brothers' unique combination of real estate, renovation, and friendly sibling rivalry continues going strong since the duo's show first premiered in January 2011. Since then, twin brothers Jonathan and Drew Scott have expanded their franchise to include four spin-offs—the latest one called Property Brothers: Forever Home. With season 1 currently on TV, there’s still time to catch-up and stay updated on the emotional show.
Here's everything you need to know about Property Brothers: Forever Home.
What is Property Brothers: Forever Home about?
On May 29, Property Brothers: Forever Home premiered on HGTV with the mission to elevate established family homes into beautiful, modern houses where deep roots will be put down. Forever Home sets itself apart in the goal to completely renovate houses without any intention of reselling or earning a profit off of them. Instead, Jonathan and Drew work closely with couples to help bring their dream-home visions to life.
In each episode, Drew takes families on a tour of nearby renovated homes to decide on what features they want to incorporate. With these ideas and the clients’ budget, Jonathan creates two different renderings showing how the house may look. From there, the homeowners decide on their ideal home’s look, while the siblings work to deliver results that surpass those expectations.
How can I watch and stream Property Brothers: Forever Home?
After each episode airs on Thursday nights, they will be available to watch on the HGTV website. Plus, you can watch new episodes on the HGTV app, which you can access on iOS, Android, Amazon Fire, Apple TV, Android TV, Roku Channel, and Amazon Fire TV.
Alternatively, you can also watch the show on Amazon Prime. And if you’re in need of more Property Brothers, you can catch up on their original show, Buying & Selling, and Brother vs. Brother on Hulu. The streaming service offers a free trial, and if you love the show, you can keep your subscription going for just $5.99 a month.
How do I apply to be on Property Brothers: Forever Home?
Currently, Forever Home is airing its first season, but that doesn’t mean Jonathan and Drew aren’t already looking for the next families to feature on future episodes.
According to their casting website, if you’re in the Toronto area, more specifically in Etobicoke, Mississauga and North York, you may be eligible to appear on the show if you meet the requirements, which include: owning a potential forever home and having a budget of at least $100,000.
In the United States, castings are taking place in Las Vegas, with filming and renovations beginning as early as March 2020. The process will need a budget of at $90,000 and may take five to seven weeks to complete.
