Christina Anstead's Heartfelt Goodbye to Her Home Will Make You Cry

I'm trying not to cry.

Homes may change, but the memories will last forever...at least, that's what Christina Anstead is hoping on this week's Christina on The Coast. After listing and selling her property in just a week, Christina and her kids had to swiftly move to a rental in Newport Beach while they continue to search for the perfect house to make their home. While moving in with her new husband, Ant Anstead, and his kids is what Christina is excited about, leaving her home behind is a little tough.

"While I'm super excited to just close this chapter of my life after the divorce, it's also bittersweet," Christina revealed. "There are just so many memories wrapped up in it.

"I know it’s going to be really hard on Taylor to move, as well," the mom of two (almost three!) continued. "It’s been a lot of change for her over the past couple years.”

To make the move smoother for her daughter, Christina packed up some sentimental things to bring with them to their new rental in Newport Beach. She included photographs, and a few of Taylor's favorite books in a tiny suitcase so she'd having something comforting to read in her new, unfamiliar home.

Before they moved to their rental, Christina and her daughter went back to their home in an emotional visit.

"Taylor wanted to go back the next day and say bye to the house, so I had to walk her into a completely empty house. She did cry, and it was heartbreaking for me as a mom," the designer revealed. "So while it is going to be an amazing fresh start for us all, it’s also very emotional.”

Hopefully, we'll get to see Christina and her family's happy ending soon during upcoming episodes of Christina on The Coast.

Christina on The Coast airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on HGTV.
